Jikiden Reiki
"Reiki is compassion in action" -Tadao Yamaguchi
Reiki (pronounced ray-kee) is the natural life force energy (Ki energy) found in all living things. The word Jikiden implies that the information is directly taught from the teacher to the student. In Jikiden Reiki the original Usui Reiki teachings are passed down from an authentic Japanese lineage. That lineage goes from Mikao Usui Sensei to Dr. Chujrio Hayashi to Mrs. Chiyoko Yamaguchi to Tadao Yamaguchi (her son) and Frank Arjava Petter and from there on to their respective students. All seminars follow the same format to insure that Jikiden Reiki is always passed on without alteration.
Chiyoko Yamaguchi first learned Reiki from Dr. Chujiro Hayashi in 1938 when she was 17 years old and spent her entire life treating others. Her son, Tadao Yamaguchi, learned Reiki and began treating others in 1965. Tadao Yamaguchi and his mother began teaching the Reiki learned from Hayashi Sensei, calling it Jikiden Reiki. Chiyoko Sensei passed away in August 2003. Tadao Yamaguchi formed the Jikiden Reiki Kenkuyukai (Jikiden Reiki Institute) and is committed to preserving and spreading Jikiden Reiki. At the moment there are approximately 21,000 Jikiden Reiki practitioners and teachers worldwide. Tadao Sensei is also the author of the book, "Light on the Origins of Reiki" which can be obtained by most booksellers. |
